Happy Augtober, friends!
Yes, I am that girl who is ready for Fall/Halloween before summer is over. Sorry not sorry! Oregon summers are magical and I always look forward to them, and by August, I’m ready for cooler weather, haha! But while I wait for cooler temps, I’ll start working on my Fall/Halloween cards to share with you all.
I made this cute card using the new Beach Boos Stamp & Die set from Hero Arts.
First I started out by coloring my stamped images using OLO Alcohol Markers:
Ghost
For the ghost girlie, I shaded her with Cool Gray 1 (CG-1). I kept the shading minimal, focusing on the bottom and left side of her.
For her flower sunglasses, I used Flamingo (R2.3) and Loquat (O1.2)
Pool Floatie
For the pink stripes on the floatie, I colored the whole section in Flamingo (R2.3) and then blended in the bottom with Raspberry (R2.4)
The orange stripes were colored with Loquat (O1.2) and then I blended the bottom with Orange (O1.4).
Palm Tree
For the trunk of the tree, I colored the whole section with Light Walnut (OR7.6) and blended the color Chocolate (OR4.7) where the tree rings are.
For the palms, I colored the whole section using Muscat Grape (YG 2.3) and blended Green Bean (G5.3) on the bottoms of the palms.
Assembly
After coloring and die cutting my images, I set them aside and cut out a white card panel measuring 4″ x 5.25″. Then using a blending brush, I ink blended in the bottom right portion of the panel using Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide. I concentrated most of that color in the center, blending outward.
After ink blending, I took some orange ribbon and wrapped it around the front of my panel, about an inch from the bottom. I secured both ends on the backside using double-sided tape.
Then I wrapped some pink baker’s twine twice around my panel, securing it the same way I secured the orange ribbon.
Using foam pop dots, I adhered my ghost onto my panel, just off center of where the pink shading is. Once she was in place, I glued my palm tree down behind her.
For a finishing touch, I added some rhinestone stickers around my ghost, and colored her pool floatie using Wink of Stella for some extra shimmer!
Once the panel was complete, I glued it to my 4.25″ x 5.25″ orange card base.
And there you have it! My first Halloween card of the season!
I absolutely LOVE this stamp and die set from Hero Arts. It has the cute Halloween vibe that I really enjoy.
